Making Blind Scribbles
Working spontaneously helps us to be present, mindful, and authentic. Through this type of expressive work you can cultivate your intuition, invite synchronicity, and open new horizon for our scribbles to be recreated and resonate as a painting.
We will learn 4 different ways of scribbling which will transform your random lines and shapes into artwork. You will discover a way to enter and use the unconscious as a creative source for spontaneity, self-expression, and inner knowing.
Even if you have never created with art materials before, by using these different ways of scribbling will enable you to easily access your ability to create images in powerful and profound ways.
Through these exercises we will explore material, color, form, gesture, scale, balance, editing and other basic fundamentals of painting.
In the final session, artists will select their preferred or combined technique and implement it on a large canvas of their choice.
The preferred medium for this workshop is chalk/oil pastels, ink, tempera/gouache, as it allows for great speed and fluidity of movement; however, participants may feel free to work using preferred drawing materials such as pencils or charcoal, etc.
