He draws deeply from his rich experience in decorative arts, his extensive educational background, the aesthetic sensibilities of today’s art lover, and the influence of his community around the world.

Imad doesn’t regard art as an end in itself or as a private piece of work with its own identity, conceived in isolation. Rather, he approaches art as a reflection of the space in which it exists and invites people to interpret each piece in the context of their feelings and circumstances in the moment. This explains the rich variety of materials used; and his methods and sources of inspiration that evoke, cajole, and provoke his audience to different levels of consciousness.

His work combines abstract expressionism and figurative fragmentation through a variety of media. Myriad paint types and techniques, handmade paper, tissue paper collage, natural wood, moulded plastic, unfinished scrap metal, antique books, corrugated cardboard, custom etching and clay stamps serve as examples of media that he uses to express fantasies as form, lines and colors.

For instance, Imad delicately builds layers of paint to create visual strength and depth of color. He uses strong, colors and spontaneous brushstrokes to act as a catharsis, which ultimately bring out therapeutic and calming qualities in his finished product. The paradoxical natures of catharsis and calm often create a hint of excitement.

Many of Imad’s works derive from an experienced emotion, influenced by breath, sound, and movement. He witnesses the quality of his breath before taking any action. Taking a breath before a creation takes physical form ascribes a certain authenticity and spontaneity to the work. He listens to a wide variety of music and this helps him capture the spirit and integrate luminosity, which transmit movement to a canvas. Finally, he moves within an expansive studio that allows him to seize the perfect space to create.
